EdRising’s latest meeting took place on Nov. 13. The meeting was relatively brief as there were only a few items to discuss. Despite its short length, the meeting provided members with important updates and opportunities.
EdRising discussed the upcoming conference at Truman State University, which will take place on Nov. 21. This conference will feature a variety of activities, including breakout rooms and other workshops. The students attending will also get the opportunity to hear several presentations given by invited speakers. The conference will end in a Q&A where students will get the opportunity to speak with professionals and guest speakers.
EdRising also discussed potential volunteering opportunities for the club. The members circled back to a previous discussion about collaborating with the high school's Spanish club to read books to West Elementary students in both English and Spanish.
“I am really excited I get the opportunity to read to the little kids at the elementary," says Ava Swaringen.
President of Educator’s Rising, Delanie Nack, shared that they will begin preparing for their upcoming competitions within the next few weeks. Members will dive deeper into competition selection, studying, and preparation at their next meeting.
