Wright City High School, Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) students at Wright City High School joined thousands of middle school, high school, and collegiate members across the country to celebrate FBLA Week, February 11-17.
Events will recognized the connections FBLA forms among its members and emphasize how FBLA prepares its members to be community-minded business leaders.
National FBLA Week activities included online panels on the importance of mentorship and networking, informational interviews with FBLA partners, and a fundraising challenge to support charities nationwide.
FBLA Week falls during National Career & Technical Education Month, highlighting the impact of career and technical education (CTE) on student success, workforce development, and the economy.
FBLA President & CEO Alexander T. Graham said, “FBLA Week is all about celebrating the powerful impact career and technical education has on our students, both in and beyond the classroom.”
At Wright City High School the chapter officers celebrated the week with themed dress up days, trivia, giveaways, and a business tour to round out the week.
President Izabelle Campbell looks forward to FBLA week each year because it highlights the importance of CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations) under the CTE umbrella.
“Every year, we look forward to engaging with our peers who may not be familiar with our organization,” said Campbell. “It's a chance for us to demonstrate how they can actively participate in school activities and see how FBLA can prepare them for life after graduation.”
The other CTSOs on the WCHS campus include HOSA (Future Health Professionals), FFA, and EdRising (Educators Rising).
