Soon enough, the third period started, and KCI tried and succeeded in stopping Laurel Heights from scoring at all costs. With their sharp skates slicing the ice and players slipping and losing balance continuously, Declan Uniac (#12) tied the game with six minutes left on the clock. A KCI goal assisted by Michael Ball (#13) and Owen Wilbur (#8). Scoring the only goal of the period and tying the game at 3-3 for both teams, bringing the game to overtime.
The pressure is immense on both teams. With KCI determined and Laurel Heights unwilling to go down without a fight, both teams fought and battled for the winning goal of the game. Time kept running out as no one scored the winning goal, but luckily, with thirty seconds left on the clock, KCI Raider Easton Oberholtzer (#9), assisted by Declan Uniac (#12), scored the last and winning goal of the game, ending the game with a score of 4-3 for KCI and a line of cheers and smiles from KCI’s hockey team.
