About the Club

This website is managed and created by the STEM Education Club at Winchester High School in Winchester, MA. It is updated daily with new content. To learn more about us, check out our description, our other leadership, and our other projects below!

The STEM Education Club is a student-run club at Winchester High School in Winchester, Massachusetts. Over the past four school years, we have been working with our fellow high school students to develop STEAM-related lessons at the elementary school level, each including an interactive activity for students to complete after an informative slideshow presentation or workshop.

In light of the coronavirus closings and students facing a lack of STEAM learning materials, we developed this website to include fun, engaging activities paired with lessons that the students can complete at home. Our dedication to student enrichment continues despite our distance and we are committed to help in any way we can.

Our Other Projects

In 2019, we thought it would be interesting to ask our fellow high school students what they remember about science in elementary school. This allowed us to recognize the units that resonate most with students and to determine the most effective methods of teaching. We discovered that students remember the topics best when they were paired with interactive and hands-on activities. We used this as a framework to develop our lessons.

The compiled answers that we received can be found in a video here
