Part 3 of life as a princess!
Scarlet took out a light rose colored dress with a long flowy trail and lots of glitter. She put it on and styled up her hair in a bun. Then, she put on light pink blush and some glittery rose eye shadow. She stepped into some 2-inch heels, which were made out of pink glass. After that, she walked off into the dining room. Everyone gasped as Scarlet walked in.
“You look just like your mother,” said Queen Diamond as she smiled and led Scarlet to the chair at the end of the table. Scarlet noticed a girl with blonde hair, ice-cold blue eyes, and a gold crown on the top of her head. The girl noticed Scarlet looking at her and glared back menacingly. Next to the girl was a boy with blonde hair and bright blue eyes, with a silver crown on the top of his head. He didn’t notice Scarlet because he was busy stuffing food in his mouth. “Ah, I see you’ve noticed Prince Chad and Princess Chester of the kingdom of the west!” Said Queen Diamond, taking a bite of her food.
“Hello,” said Scarlet, smiling at both of them as she started eating her pasta.
Princess Chester rolled her eyes. “Hello, I see you're next in line to the Gold Kingdom,” she said as a fake-looking smile was plastered across her perfect face. Prince Chad smiled warmly at Scarlet.
“Hello, Princess Scarlet,” he said as he stood up and bowed to her. Scarlet smiled at Prince Chad as Princess Chester rolled her eyes and glared at her brother. Soon dinner was over, and dessert started coming. Scarlet left the table to get a fork for her strawberry shortcake when she heard Chester’s cold voice whispering to Chad in the corner.
“You aren’t supposed to be nice to her!” Chester whisper-shouted at her brother.
“Well, I’m sorry, but she's just so kind and pretty–unlike you,” muttered Chad, glaring at his sister as he kicked the floor.
“Well, maybe I should send you back to the kingdom!” Sneered Chester. “I didn’t even want to bring you. Remember, our plan is to take over because Scarlet is not a good princess,” whispered Chester.
“Well FINE!” Said Chad as he sighed and walked back to the dinner table. When Scarlet walked back, she didn’t take a big bite out of her cake. Instead, she took a tiny bite and wiped her face with a napkin. Scarlet stood up after dinner and walked back into her bedroom.
Suddenly, Scarlet heard her grandma walk up to the door and say, “Scarlet dearie time to put on your ball gown and get ready for your welcoming ball!”
Scarlet groaned,. “Do I have to go?”
“Yes, you have to go darling.” Scarlet sighed. She found a puffy yellow ball gown with real roses on the bottom of the skirt and put it on.
Suddenly, a trumpet blared, and someone shouted, “PRESENTING PRINCESS SCARLET OF THE GOLD KINGDOM” as Scarlet started walking down the stairs. Everybody in the ballroom turned to look at Scarlet and smiled at her, except for one person. Princess Chester sneered and imitated Scarlet as she started laughing. Scarlet looked away and smiled at everybody in the crowd, walking off to the food table. Someone handed Scarlet a hors d'oeuvre and Scarlet took a bite out of it. Scarlet found her grandmother sitting on the high throne.
“Hello, dearie,” smiled Queen Diamond as she patted the slightly lower throne next to her.
Scarlet sat on the throne, “Hello, Gran- I mean Queen Diamond,” said Scarlet. Scarlet took a cup of sparkling water from the table, and a maid poured her a cup.
“So, why aren’t you joining the dance?”
“Because no one asked me to dance, and I don’t want to,” grumbled Scarlet, picking up a French fry and dipping it in ketchup. DING DONG! The clock struck 12, and Scarlet yawned. “I’m going to bed,” mumbled Scarlet as she stood up and left the room.
The next day someone woke Scarlet up at exactly 5:00 A.M, to get her ready for the day. Scarlet groaned, “Ugh do we have to get this ready early?”
“Yes, you do. That's what Queen Diamond says. You are starting your Princess Lessons today,” said the maid, pulling Scarlet out of bed. Scarlet sighed and started to wash her face with warm water until someone stopped her. Scarlet sighed and looked up. It was her grandmother with a butler holding a ginormous basket.
“Darling, good morning, it is time for your morning routine!” said Queen Diamond in a cheery voice.
“Hello Queen Diamond. Why are you here?” Asked Scarlet as she tried to yank a brush out of her tangled hair.
“Darling! You do not get ready for the morning like that!” Reprimanded Queen Diamond as she taught Scarlet her morning routine
