It was a normal day for Scarlet Golden, until she found out she was a princess...
Scarlet opened her eyes and looked at her clock. It was already 7:30!! She had to get ready for school. “MOM!!” Shouted Scarlet, no reply.
Suddenly Scarlet remembered her mother had left for an important meeting. She jumped out of bed, brushed her teeth and put on some jeans and a pink T-Shirt. She grabbed a cereal bar and ran outside. Just as she stepped out the bus came and stopped by the sidewalk. Scarlet entered and sat down next to her best friend Nikki. “Hi,” said Scarlet out of breath.
Suddenly the bus jolted to a stop. Jessica Goldstein walked in Wearing a short plaid skirt and a matching shirt. Jessica’s red sneakers clanked against the dirty bus floor. She glared at Scarlet and sat down. Soon the bus arrived at the school and they got off.
Scarlet walked into her English class. Before she could sit down Mrs. Clarkson gave her a slip. It said Scarlet Golden, please report to the main office immediately. Scarlet grabbed her stuff and ran into the office. “What's wrong?” She asked, noticing her mother.
“We need to leave honey.” Said her mother in a stern voice as she dragged Scarlet off into the car.
“Mom, why'd you pull me out of school?” Asked Scarlet.
“I have something to confess,” said her mother, taking a deep breath. Thoughts invaded Scarlet’s head. Was she in trouble? Did something happen to her mother?? “I’m not your real mother,” Blurted out Scarlet's mom. Scarlet gasped, but her mother continued talking. “You were given to me by your real parents when you were only one month old.”
“Why!?” Shouted Scarlet, “It's because your real parents are the king and queen.” Scarlet gasped.
“Mom this can’t be true!”
She said, “When you turned fifteen I would give you back; they wanted to hide you from the royal life until you were fifteen.”
“But I’m only 13,” protested Scarlet. “It's because your parents recently died and your grandparents are heartbroken so they want you back!” Cried Scarlet's “mother,” tears streaming out of her eyes.
Before Scarlet could respond, a man wearing a suit and dark sunglasses appeared in the parking lot. The man smiled calmly at Scarlet and bowed. “Hello Princess Scarlet,” Said the man as Scarlet walked out of her “mothers” car, and walked into the black limo. “Goodbye, Mom,” said Scarlet as the car drove away.
The car door opened, and Scarlet walked out to the sight of a beautiful castle. An old lady wearing a dress and a crown walked out of the castle, and hugged Scarlet. “Hello Scarlet.” “PRESENTING QUEEN DIAMOND OF THE GOLD KINGDOM!!!” Said a loud voice.
“So you’re my grandmother.” Said Scarlet.
Everybody gasped. “You need to curtsy,” Whispered the man in Scarlet's ear. Scarlet copied one of the maids but she fell in the middle of it.
Everybody laughed at Scarlet as her face flushed with embarrassment. “Well, we need to fix your princess skills,” said the lady. “But first, let's get you settled in,”
The guards brought Scarlet to a door. “Umm, is this my room?” asked Scarlet. The guards nodded. Scarlet walked in and gasped.
Her room was beautiful. The windows had a view of the royal courtyard and the mountains surrounding it. There was a water fountain with tiny bits of gold decorating it. There was a large king sized bewd on one side of the room. The bed had a pink canopy with pink pillows and blankets. There was a desk with all of the school supplies Scarlet ever needed. The book shelf was stuffed with novels. But the most amazing sight was the closet. It was a walk in closet with the most beautiful dresses. On one side of the closet there were pants and skirts. The other side held jackets and tops. There were dresses hanging from the top and shoes on the bottom. There were stairs in the closet which you could climb to store more clothes. There was ANOTHER layer with drawers and shelves holding crowns, jewelry, and other accessories.
There was even another walk in the closet with other clothes. There were carpets which were as soft as clouds in the room. Scarlet walked into the bathroom and there were a lot of buttons in it. In the bathroom there was a hot tub and a shower. Above the sink there was a big mirror which looked like it was made from diamonds. Under the sink there was a cabinet full of shampoo, conditioner, cream, and other things. There was also a cabinet in the bathroom which held lots of makeup. There was a hanger that hung soft, fluffy, white towels. Scarlet jumped onto her bed and fell asleep.
“SCARLET!” Someone shouted, gently tapping Scarlet. Scarlet groaned and opened her eyes. It was her grandmother glaring at her.
“Scarlet a proper princess should not sleep with dirty clothes and shoes on their bed,” Said her grandmother in a stern but kind voice.
“You need to get ready for afternoon tea,” said her grandmother, as Scarlet jumped off the bed.
Scarlet blinked. “There's afternoon tea?” She asked
“Of course,” said her grandmother, “And you need to find a dress for afternoon tea,” said her grandmother. A few minutes later Scarlet and her grandmother were in her walk in closet picking dresses. “All of these dresses seem so uncomfortable,” complained Scarlet. “Then I will pick a dress for you,” said her grandmother simply as they
started getting ready.
