February is going to be a massive month for stargazers. Over the next four weeks, six astronomical events will occur in the night sky. Here's a quick timeline:
February 1st: The Moon, Venus, and Saturn formed a triple alignment, promoting tons of cool pictures.
February 8th: The Centaurid Meteor Shower will be visible from the Southern Hemisphere.
February 12th: We will have a full snow moon, which is usually the snowiest full moon of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.
February 16th: Venus will be at peak brightness in the sky and the second-brightest object, next to the Moon.
February 20th: The Grand Alignment, also known as the Parade of Planets, will begin as six planets- Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune- will be visible as well as the Moon, forming an arc in the night sky.
February 25th: Mercury and Saturn will meet each other, putting the two planets extremely close together.
Happy stargazing!
