Recently, new Care Bears have been released, and have been redrawn. Many people argue that the new ones are cuter, but is that true? In my opinion, the vintage ones are WAY cuter.
These are the care bears that I think are cuter!
And these are the ones that people argue are cuter
After seeing those pictures... do you see what I mean?! If you don't, look at all of the reasons why they are!
1: The new Care Bears are way too generic and don't have any detail
2: The new ones are over-rated
3: The old ones look a bit more different from each other, rather than the new ones that seem only copied, pasted, and the color and tummy patch is changed
4: The vintage Care Bears actually look happy in a more realistic way, because most of the time, the new Care Bears have closed eyes every time they smile, while the vintage ones can smile without closing their eyes every time
5: The vintage Care Bears look more realistic, and their body shape looks like an actual bear's body, compared to the new ones that seem like random blobs.
The vintage Care Bears were created in 1981 by Elena Kucharik originally made for the American Greetings greeting cards. Many movies have been made about them too. Care Bears have also been remade a few years later the originals were created.
Each Care Bear is a different color, with a different tummy patch (what the symbols on their stomachs are called) that represents their personality. The cartoon eventually led to the cartoon "Care Bear Cousins" (The title is pretty self explanatory). Thanks to all of their success, in 2002, plush versions of them were created and sold.
On the other hand, the new Care Bears were released on February 1st, 2019. This meant that many products were recently released thanks to their popularity. Thankfully, not only the 2019 Care Bears were everywhere. The vintage ones are in most places too! (They make everything cuter!)
Overall, vintage Care Bears should be more popular. They used to be, but sadly, not anymore.
Here is where I found all of this information.
