McCall 8th grade student Sadie Paige Coffey is living a double life. She has acted in off-broadway shows such as Newsies, James and the Giant Peach, Elf, Sponge bob, and Finding Nemo the Musical. She is extremely talented. I interviewed her, and asked her some questions about what it is like to manage both a school and performing life, among other things.

How do you manage your rehearsal schedule and shows on top of education and other activities?
The actual run time of the shows may be short, but the rehearsals themselves are hours and hours long. And most of the shows I do, there's downtime during the rehearsals to finish homework and other things I have to do.
What have your roles been like so far?
Honestly, everything. Right now I'm the villain in a show, but for instance, about a year ago, I played the goody-two-shoes, so it really... fluctuates.
Do you think you will pursue this career more permanently?
Um, I think definitely for the next few years at least. But, when I'm older, I would prefer to be a news anchor because it is more consistent unlike doing theater and jumping from job to job.
Do you ever feel like you are treated differently by your peers because of your occupation?
I mean, not really, because most people don't really... care? I'm very new to the theater arts, but I've been doing acting for a mere two years, so I've only had the opportunity to be in so many shows.
What is your dream role?
Glinda in Wicked or Glinda in Oz. I just think Glinda would be so fun!
Last of all, what would you like to say to all of the aspiring actors at our school?
Just try... just never give up, because you can never give up, and you can only get better, and take every opportunity you can get.
