In this course, students develop a thorough understanding of fundamental marketing concepts and theories as they relate to the sports, entertainment, and event industries. Students will investigate the components of customer service, branding, product development, pricing and distribution, business structures, sales processes, digital media, sponsorships and endorsements, as well as promotion needed for sports, entertainment, and events. The course explores career options and develops workplace readiness skills.
The cooperative education method is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.
