General Educational Development Certificates (GED)
The only Virginia board-approved High School Equivalency (HSE) examination in Virginia is the General Educational Development (GED) test. The GED consists of four subject tests including Reasoning Through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies.
Individual Student Alternative Education Plan (ISAEP) Program
The ISAEP program prepares students at risk of dropping out of public high school to take the General Educational Development (GED) test while developing career and technical education skills. The ISAEP program fulfills compulsory attendance requirements for students who are between 16 and 18 years of age.
