Hello parents and students,

My Name is Paul Harris and I am the High School/8th grade History/Geography teacher at Woodson Independent School District. I also coach many different sports for high school and junior high cowboys and cowgirls. My family and I are excited to be a part of the team and look forward to a great year of learning and having fun. I am married to the former Miss Renee Gober of Throckmorton and we have three children: Will, Elaina, and Ellie.

I grew up around Olney and Throckmorton (THS class of 1993) and I believe this is a great place to raise children and place them around people with the same morals and values that we teach in our home.

I spent 20 years as a United States Marine, with three combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. I had the pleasure of serving with some of the finest Americans and I am humbled to have been a part of and lead such incredible warriors.

During my time as a Marine, I went to school at night and earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC (outside Raleigh-Durham). I also earned a Master's degree in International Relations from Troy State University located in Alabama.

After I retired from the Marine Corps, I owned a business in the DFW metroplex and I realized early on that I was not satisfied and I wanted to find a way to help young people. I now look forward to helping our students and community excel in learning, sportsmanship, and shaping young men and women for their future in whatever endeavor they chose.

On this website, you will find different documents to help guide your student in planning and learning throughout the school year. I will also post links to podcasts, youtube videos, and other items I believe will help you and your student through the curriculum. I guarantee that we will learn, have fun, and compete to win but with humility and class.

I also believe that attitude is everything and a rising tide lifts all ships. I will challenge all of my students to be the tide that raises their teammates and classmates. Never make it about yourself!

Go Cowboys and Cowgirls!
