Jules Feiffer (born 1929) is a satirist and comic writer. He has won a Pulitzer Prize, been inducted into the Comic Book Hall of Fame and won an Academy Award. He loved comics as a child and apprenticed under Will Eisner. He was encouraged in his drawing by his mother who was a fashion designer who made watercolour drawings of her creations. For 42 years he worked for The Village Voice producing a weekly comic strip.
