Jill Paton Walsh (1937 - Current) is known for writing both children's and adult novels, most of the adult novel being crime books - including the continuation of Dorothy L. Sayers' Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane books. This continuation came partly as a result of being shortlisted for the Booker Prize for Knowledge of Angels which she self published having failed to find a publisher. She grew up in London in the blitz before being evacuated to Cornwall. She now lives in Cambridge, having attended St Anne's College Oxford.
