George Adamson (1913 – 2005) had dual British and American citizenship, he was an illustrator, engraver and cartoonist. He parents died when he was young and from the age of 8 he grew up in Britain. He illustrated lots of books, being particularly known for the Professon Branestawm books. He only started illustrating books in 1954 before that mostly focussing on cartoons and teaching at the Exeter School of Art.
