Ms. Binette

5th & 6th Grade Math and ELA Interventionist

Hello,

I would like to welcome back all of our returning families and introduce myself to our new families. My name is Christina Binette and this will be my first year teaching at Wells Junior High School. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach first, second, fourth, fifth and middle school at St. James School in Biddeford for 7 years prior to coming to Wells. This year I am jumping into the fantastic role as the 5th and 6th grade math and ELA interventionist.

I graduated from the University of New England in 2001 with a degree in educational studies. I taught at St. James School until my daughter was born in 2006. From 2007 until 2016 I ran a successful daycare out of my home. I reentered the teaching world in 2016. I have a 13 year old daughter Abby who attends Saco Middle School, plays the saxophone, and loves gymnastics. Abby and I share a home with my best friends Tara and Anthony and their two children Regan and Eirnan. I truly believe that it takes a village to raise children! We enjoy boating, camping, going to the beach, attending sporting events, and having family movie nights.

Math has always been my passion and over the years ELA has really piqued my interest. I am looking forward to teaching both math and ELA in new and exciting ways involving hands on projects and small group lessons. Helping my students understand a wide variety of complex math and ELA concepts is my number one priority. The students will work individually, in groups, and one on one with me depending on their needs and interests. I believe that every student has the right to learn in a supportive environment regardless of ability.

Please feel free to contact me at cbinette@wocsd.org I will read and respond to all emails within 24 hours of receipt. Please visit k12wocsd.net if you have any questions regarding the school supply list or school policies. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
