Community Connect is a free, one-day community experience bringing together haircuts, health checks, career support, business advice, inspiring speakers and a whole lot of good energy, all under one roof.
It's presented by the Enfield Job Club Network, and it's the biggest public moment in everything we do at WO Consultancy. Last year over 170 people came through the doors. This year, we want even more of you there.
The idea is simple. Instead of asking people to find their way to ten different services in ten different places, we bring those services to you, in a library you already know, on one day, for free.
This year it also happens during Black History Month. That's deliberate. This is a day about visibility, aspiration and community showing up for community.
WHY WE DO IT DIFFERENTLY
Let me be straight with you. This is not a job fair. And it's not a drop-in where you get handed a leaflet and sent on your way.
We started Community Connect because I've spent years working in communities and seeing the same thing. There are people who sit just outside the reach of the services built to help them. They're not "eligible". They don't feel confident walking into an office. They've had bad experiences with institutions. They don't have the time, or they just don't trust the process.
So we do it differently:
No gatekeeping. There's no referral, no criteria, and no one asking you to prove you need help. Employed, unemployed, self-employed, student, carer, retired or just curious, you're welcome.
Help happens on the spot. You don't have to book anything or come back next week. Walk up, get the support, walk away with something real.
It's a trusted space. We hold it in a library, a place the community already knows and feels comfortable in, and the people supporting you are there because they care about community, not just to tick a box.
It's built around real lives. Your confidence, your health, your look and your next move all matter, so we've brought them together in one room.
It's about representation. Our speakers come from different sectors and backgrounds. People of colour and minority groups are visible and leading, so you can see what's possible from people who look like you and share your journey.
ZONES
Community Connect Enfield is organised into three zones so you can find what matters to you fast - whether that's a fresh look, a step forward in your career, or looking after your health. Each zone brings free, expert support into one space, no appointment needed.
Free haircuts, an express nail bar, styling advice on a budget, head and shoulder massage, a sound bath session, sneaker customisation, and LinkedIn headshots by anotherAccident Studio. This zone exists because showing up for yourself matters - looking and feeling good changes how you walk into a room, a job interview, or your own day. Come through for a fresh cut, a confidence boost, or a professional photo you can actually use.
CV clinics, business start-up support, life skills coaching, benefits and disability employment advice, licence and training guidance, volunteering opportunities with local community hubs, and WO Consultancy's own course table. This zone exists because finding work, changing direction, or starting a business shouldn't depend on knowing the right person or navigating a system built to confuse you. Come through for practical, on-the-spot help - no appointment, no judgement, and no waiting weeks for a callback.
Blood pressure and primary care advice, blood sugar testing and diabetes awareness, height, weight and body composition checks, heart failure specialist support, talking therapies, and information from Breast Cancer Now. This zone exists because health conversations don't always happen in a GP's office, and for a lot of our community, they don't happen at all - through mistrust, language, culture, or simply not having the time. These are culturally-led conversations on the health topics that don't get talked about enough, delivered by people who get it. Come through for a free check, an honest conversation, or just to ask the question you've been putting off.

Mental Health Is Health
Join Daniel Belgrave, Founder of Belgrave Mind and qualified therapist, for an important conversation about why we should take our mental health just as seriously as our physical health.
Drawing on his professional experience and personal journey into counselling and psychotherapy, Daniel explores the importance of representation within mental health services, some of the barriers that can prevent people from seeking support, and why we shouldn't wait until we reach crisis point before asking for help.
This short talk encourages us to check in with ourselves, recognise when something doesn't feel right and remember that there is strength in talking and seeking support.
Mental health is health. Your mind deserves looking after too.
