Week of 4/30

Thank you to all of you that helped our students raise money for The American Heart Association through Jump Rope for Heart. Our students enjoyed participating in our event last week. Those that did earn some prizes because of their fundraising efforts, will receive them in a few weeks hopefully. Thank you!

This year, Vermont schools are rolling out a state wide fitness testing program. This is the practice year. The scores of 4th graders will be submitted. No names will be looked at with their scores, just the district results for the age group. We will be doing fitness testing the next couple of weeks with 2nd-4th. The testing involves a Pacer run, push up test, sit up test, and flexibility test. K-1st will do some lead up activities that related to these areas tested. We will also be starting a striking unit. It will start with striking using our feet, a soccer related skills unit.

Week of 4/23

This week ---- Jump Rope for Heart! This is the last week to fundraise for the American Heart Association. Please return the envelopes with donations by this Friday, 4/27. Our Jump Rope for Heart event will take place during our PE classes on Thursday, April 26th. Parents are welcome to come participate with their students! Thanks!

Week of 4/9

Please continue to fundraise for to help support the American Heart Association. Our Jump Rope for Heart event will take place April 26th during each class' PE time.

This week we are going to be learning and practicing some jump roping skills with short and long jump ropes.

Week of 3/26

This week, we are finishing up our basketball related skills unit. The k and 1 students are playing some fun games that put together some of the manipulative skills and sport related skills that we have been working on. The 2nd-4th graders will be playing some small sided basketball type games. In these games, they will be putting the skills we have been learning and practicing throughout the unit. That includes, dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense. We play small sided games, meaning 2 or 3 on a team, because it gives each students more opportunity to participate fully.

On Friday, each student will be bringing home their Jump Rope for Heart packets. Thank you for helping your children raise money!

Coming Soon: Jump Rope for Heart 2018

The date of our Jump Roping event is April 26th! Each class will enjoy some jump rope for heart stations during PE that day.

We will be doing the Jump Rope for Heart fundraising and event this year. The students will be getting a letter next week about how to register and raise money.
