Welcome to the Bellows Falls Union High School Library!
BFUHS Online Catalog (Destiny)
https://wnesu-libraries.follettdestiny.com/
This is the link to our online catalog so you can look up what we have in the library! Make sure to select Bellows Falls Union High school after clicking this link.
Vermont Online Library
The Vermont Online Library gives students access to a wide variety of resources and online databases. These databases are useful for research purposes and include information from trusted sources.
Purdue Online Writing Lab, MLA Citation Guide
The Purdue Online Writing Lab is a great resource for formatting citation information. MLA is the citation style most frequently used for papers and such. On the left under "MLA Formatting and Style Guide," you'll be able to select the type of source you want to cite and it will give you the correct format to follow for your citation.
Sora is a reading app where you can read ebooks or listen to audiobooks that we have access to. I'm currently working on expanding our collection even more, but we already have hundreds of ebooks and a few audiobooks available!
You can also download the app on your phone or tablet. Our account is under Windham Northeast Supervisory Union, so enter that when it asks you to select your school. Then just login using your WNESU Gmail account. Any questions, let me know!

SIRS - Issues Researcher: https://explore.proquest.com/sirsissuesresearcher/
Issues Researcher is a great option when researching both sides of a topic.
eLibrary: https://explore.proquest.com/elibrary/
eLibrary is a great database for researching a wide variety of topics.
World History Encyclopedia
The World History Encyclopedia is a good resource for information on historic topics and important figures. No need to log in - we don't have paid access but there are still good resources on here!
Smithsonian Institution
The entire Smithsonian Institution site has a ton of useful resources and information, but here are links that will be particularly useful for research:
https://library.si.edu/research (If completing a search, make sure to select the boxes on the right that say open access and full text online - we do not pay for this resource so we won't have access to everything).
https://library.si.edu/research/free-databases-and-collections (Free Databases and Collections!)
https://www.si.edu/researchers (variety of research resources)
Other resources:
Internet Archive - https://archive.org/
The Internet Archive is a non-profit digital library that grants free universal access to books, movies, music, etc.
ScienceOpen - https://www.scienceopen.com/
Online platform that hosts open access journals and is free to use. This resource would be good for science-based research.
Meet Ms. Mobus, the Media Specialist and Senior Project Advisor!
I graduated with my Masters in Library Science, School Librarianship in May 2024 from East Carolina University. I'm thrilled to be the librarian here at BFUHS, and hope this site makes the online catalog and all of the resources you have available easy to find! I believe the school library is the heart of every school and should be a welcoming, inviting space. My email is: carrie.mobus@wnesu.com for any library related questions/concerns.
