John Slovensky

I had no idea 28 years ago as I began my teaching career at Wellsville-Middletown how tremendously blessed I would be in this role.  I quickly fell in love with this school, the students, and the community, and they have loved me and my family right back.  My wife Sherri was hired here two years after I came and our family has made WM R-I our home ever since.  While I’ve worn several different “hats” here as a teacher and coach, WM R-I has allowed me tremendous opportunities for growth, success, and fulfillment.  Education is more than a job—it is a calling and a lifestyle.  I teach everywhere I go and believe that was the purpose for which I was created.  Besides teaching in the classroom, I have taught both youth and adult Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and I consider being a teacher my greatest role as a coach.
