Dr. Sawalha is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western Michigan University. She has also an adjunct appointment in the Department of Computer Science at Western Michigan University. She is the founder and director of the Computer Architecture Automation and Systems Research Laboratory at WMU. Her research interests include computer architecture, heterogeneous systems, mobile and edge computing, AI-based cross layer optimization, hardware/software co-design and optimization, AI for systems and systems for AI, energy-efficient computing, and AI hardware acceleration. Dr. Sawalha received her MS and PhD degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and her BS degree in Computer Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology.
