In this unit, students will research a famous Hispanic individual and learn about their life, accomplishments, and contributions. Students will gather information about the person’s background, achievements, and significance, and then present this information in Spanish with appropriate detail. Through this work, students will strengthen their research, cultural understanding, and presentational communication skills in Spanish.

In this unit, students will learn and practice Spanish vocabulary related to law, legal procedures, and courtroom roles. Students will apply this vocabulary through a mock trial, where they will take on roles, present information, ask and answer questions, and use Spanish to communicate within a courtroom setting. Through this interactive experience, students will strengthen their speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills while applying language in a meaningful real-world context.

In this unit, students will develop and explore a debatable topic while strengthening their ability to communicate and defend a position in Spanish. Students will learn how to state an argument clearly, support their thinking with evidence, and respond to different perspectives. Through discussion, writing, and presentation, they will practice using Spanish to organize ideas, express opinions, and justify their reasoning.

In this unit, students will research the artistic work of a famous Hispanic artist and explore the style, themes, and techniques that make that artist’s work significant. Students will then apply their learning by creating an original art piece inspired by the artist’s style. They will also explain in Spanish how their work was influenced by the Hispanic artist and how their own piece connects to their personal ideas, experiences, or identity.
