Sociology

In this unit, students will explore the foundations of sociology by examining sociological imagination, major sociological theories and theorists, and the research methods sociologists use to study human behavior and society.

In this unit, students will examine how culture shapes human beliefs, behaviors, and interactions by exploring cultural perspectives, elements of culture, divisions of culture, and the differences between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation.

In this unit, students will analyze deviance and crime through major sociological theories while examining how society defines deviance, explains criminal behavior, and uses prisons and the prison system to respond to crime.
