In this unit, students will learn about roles and responsibilities within a community. Students will explore communities in the past and present, identify familiar places, and learn about the roles of individuals and groups. Students will use tools and resources to ask questions, gather information, and communicate what they learn about communities.

In this unit, students will explore what life was like in the past and how it has changed over time. Students will use evidence from a variety of sources to compare children and families from the past and present. Through this work, students will identify ways that life today is similar to and different from life long ago.

Unit 3: Me, My Family, My Community, and Geography
In this unit, students will explore how maps and globes help us learn about the world. Students will identify key features of maps and use maps, graphs, photographs, and other visual representations to describe places and make connections to their own lives and community. Students will also consider how weather and climate affect people’s lives in different places and regions.
