In this unit, students will learn the basics of sculpture, including different types of media, styles, and methods. Students will practice the elements of art and how these skills affect the success of sculpture projects throughout the semester.
In this unit, students will learn the Principles of Design to further support the four steps of art criticism: describe, analyze, interpret, and judge. Students will learn about the media plaster and use both Elements of Art and Principles of Design to create a sculpture.

In this unit, students will learn about the characteristics of soft sculpture and fashion design. This will include different dyeing techniques, sewing, and how fabric fits the human form. Students will experience the soft sculpture process through different techniques.
In this unit, students will learn about the features of found material and assemblage in sculpture. This will include viewing contemporary sculpture. Students will experience different sculpting techniques in using unconventional materials.
In this unit, students will learn about kinetic sculptures and identify different ways for parts of sculptures to move. Students will explore the concept of space for their kinetic sculptures.
