AP Studio Art

In this unit, students will explore the elements and principles of design, experiment with a variety of materials, techniques, and processes, analyze artworks from diverse artists and cultures, develop observational and conceptual skills, and maintain a visual journal/sketchbook.

In this unit, students will generate and refine inquiry questions, conduct visual and conceptual research, develop a personal artistic direction, and document artistic decisions and discoveries.

In this unit, students will refine technical and conceptual skills, explore alternative approaches to solving visual problems, revise work based on feedback, and demonstrate evidence of growth and risk-taking.

In this unit, students will create highly resolved artworks, strengthen connections among portfolio pieces, evaluate and revise work through critique, and prepare work for professional presentation.

In this unit, students will select and refine portfolio works, complete AP written responses, prepare digital portfolio submissions, and present and defend artistic decisions.
