What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is our legal and moral duty as a college, to ensure that the welfare of all young people and vulnerable adults is an overriding priority. We follow procedures to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect or significant harm. All staff are trained to provide help as soon as possible and will refer any safeguarding concerns to the college’s dedicated safeguarding team.

What is Prevent?

Preventing radicalisation and extremism is a central part of our safeguarding policy and procedure. It means we must safeguard students from the risk of being drawn into terrorism and ensure that we stand up for the fundamental values of democracy, rule of law and mutual respect.

Who should I contact if I have a concern?

Everyone has a responsibility to keep children, young people and vulnerable adults safe. If you have a safeguarding concern about yourself, another student, a member of your family or a member of college staff, please speak to your tutor or contact a member of the safeguarding team.
