​​Attention all Seniors! The Babylon Rotary Scholarship is now available in the counseling office. The scholarship awards are based on financial need, community service and academic performance. All completed scholarships must returned to the counseling office no later than Friday, March 9th.

​Give your Valentine a PIZZA your heart. The Class of 2020 will be holding a pizza fundraiser right after school today in the main lobby and in front of the Girls Gym. Pizza will be sold for two dollars a slice. Enjoy a slice of love !

There will be a meeting for all boys interested in trying out for the Varsity and JV baseball teams today after school. Varsity will meet in room 135 and JV will meet in room 136. Any questions see Coach Rush or Coach LaCova.

In honor of last week's PS I Love You Day, the Student Senate will be hosting a Love Out Loud Concert tonight at 7pm. Come watch your fellow classmates perform. While the concert is free, any donations made will be given to help support suicide prevention. We hope to see you there.

​Boys Varsity and JV Tennis meeting will be Wednesday February 14th @ 2:15 outside the Fitness center.

Congratulations to Greg Bove on earning a trip to the New York State Track and Field Championship meet. Greg finished last night’s meet earning All-county in two different events, The Triple Jump and the 600 Meter race. In the process of doing this Greg also broke our school record in both those events. The state meet is March 3rd. Congrats Greg. Other athletes that had a great night include Kevin Cassidy who High Jumped a personal Record of 6 feet one inch to finish 5th in Suffolk county and the 4 by 800 meter relay team of Desmond Benton, Frank Riviezzo, Andrew Paules, and Peter DeMicco who finished fourth in Suffolk County. Congratulations to all of you.

The West Islip Varsity Kickline and West Islip Winter Guard will be holding a FREE performance show tonight at the Beach Street Gymnasium. The show will begin at 7:30 pm and feature 4 performances from the kickline and 1 from the color guard. Come show your support for your performance teams!

Would you like to take part in a Science Research experiment? Some of our very own, West Islip High School science students spend a great deal of time doing independent research. Your participation in some of these research experiments is much needed and appreciated by your peers. A list of ongoing research experiments that you could be a part of are listed on our High school Research website. For more information, or to gain access to the website please contact Mrs. Kroll or Mrs. Nohowec by email or stop by Room 222.

All students under the age of 18 who would like to participate in an experiment are required to fill out and return an informed consent document with their parent’s signature. Thank you in advance.

Congratulations to the Girls Winter Track Team and their performances at the county championships. Isabella Rogler finished 5th in the racewalk. Klaire Klemens finished 6th in the 1500 meter run. The team of Christine Delianne, Shannon Horan, Julianna Moses and Klaire Klemens finished 6th in the 4 x 400 meter relay. Way to go girls.

The Wrestling Team wrestled well at the League 4 Tournament. The following wrestlers achieved all league status and will compete at the county tournament this weekend. Nick Marino and Tommy Corcoran finished in 4th place. Bobby Filippi and Matt Moynihan finished in 3rd place. Brad Wilson finished in 2nd place. Brian Calhoun was crowned League Champion.

The class of 2018 will be hosting a blood drive all day Tuesday January 30th. Signups will be outside cafeteria A/B all lunch periods during the week of the 23rd. You are only able to donate if you are over 16. If you are 16 you must have parent’s consent. Those who donate will receive a special gift and will be eligible to win Dunkin Donuts gift cards. The person who reaches our goal for donors will receive a special basket. Thank you, hope to see you on the 30th.
