Health Office
If you become ill in school, you should report to the Health Office with a pass from your classroom teacher. The nurse will decide the course of action to be taken. A student may never leave the building due to illness without authorization from the school nurse, nor may you call your parent during the school day to pick you up without the express permission of the school nurse. If the nurse is not in her office, an ill student should report to the Main Office.
Medication
If medication must be administered during school hours, a doctor’s note must be provided, stating the diagnosis, medication, dosage, and time. This includes aspirin, Tylenol, and cough medicine. All medication must be carried to and from school by an adult. (This is New York State law.)
Accidents
Every accident on school property, including during class or in the hallway, at practice sessions, or any district-sponsored athletic event, must be reported immediately to the person in charge of the event and to the Health Office.
