SECTION 2: INTERNET CODE OF ETHICS
Access to the Internet is provided on a limited basis in libraries and selected classrooms, and is to be used for educational research. Use of the Internet is governed by the West Islip Public Schools’ Acceptable Use Policy adopted by the Board of Education in 1997. Before using the Internet, students must return a signed copy of the AUP to the building.
A copy of the AUP is included in the District’s Technology Plan and can be obtained in each building.
6.1.2.1. SECTION 3: DISTRICT WIDE CODE OF ETHICS
All staff and community members are expected to abide by the Code of Ethics listed for students. The vision of the committee to create an educational community rich in technology is dependent upon the respect of all those who make use of the equipment found throughout our schools. As the use of our labs and classrooms becomes continuous, it is imperative that all computers are left in working order and ready for classroom use. No person should expect privacy on the Internet.
