MEET THE TEACHER

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!  I hope that you all had a wonderful summer and are eager to return to school in September.  This will be my first year teaching in the district and I am super excited to be joining the amazing teachers, staff and students at Manetuck Elementary School.

I was born and raised on Long Island.  After graduating college with degrees in Elementary and Special Education, I decided to stay in my college town of Scranton, PA to begin my teaching career.  I've spent the last 11 years teaching reading and math to students in Kindergarten all the way up to 4th grade!  I fell in love with helping kids become better readers, so I focused much of my professional growth in that area.  I recieved my Masters Degree in Reading and went on to become a Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner. 

After many fun-filled school years in Pennsylvania, I decided it was time to come back to Long Island.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as my dog, Cooper!  Baking and crafting are two of my favorite hobbies.

I am looking forward to a fantastic school year, where all students are provided with the opportunity to grow academically, behaviorally and socially.
