MEET THE TEACHER

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  I hope that you all had a wonderful summer and are eager to return to school in September.  This will be my second year teaching in the district and I am super excited to be joining the amazing teachers, staff and students at Oquenock Elementary School.

I was born and raised on Long Island.  After graduating college with degrees in Elementary and Special Education, I decided to stay in my college town of Scranton, PA to begin my teaching career.  I spent 11 years teaching reading and math to students in Kindergarten all the way up to 4th grade!  I fell in love with helping kids become better readers, so I focused much of my professional growth in that area.  I recieved my Masters Degree in Reading and went on to become a Wilson® Dyslexia Practitioner.

After many fun-filled school years in Pennsylvania, I decided it was time to come back to Long Island and I couldn't be happier to be in West Islip!  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as my dog, Cooper!  Baking and crafting are two of my favorite hobbies.

I am looking forward to a fantastic school year, where all students are provided with the opportunity to grow academically, behaviorally and socially.

Sincerely,

Danielle Sadusky
