Westmoreland Intermediate Unit  Gifted Network

Westmoreland Intermediate Unit provides training and consultation in the area of gifted services, as well as opportunities for gifted education teachers and coordinators to participate in professional development and professional learning communities.  Through our Westmoreland County Gifted Network, participants engage in collaboration and discussion related to current issues and trends in gifted education.  Any school district or nonpublic institution in Westmoreland County is invited to participate.   For gifted education coordinators and teachers needing more personalized assistance in the area of gifted education, the WIU Gifted Liaison provides additional support on an as-requested basis.  Support may include preparing for and understanding gifted compliance and best practices.  Contact Natalie Smith, WIU Gifted Liaison, at nsmith@wiu7.org or 724.219.2321.
