The Workshop will be hosted in the Lincoln Room in the University Union at Western Illinois University. This space would be large enough to host at least thirty-five students.
The room would be set up lecture style to ensure that students are front facing for the workshop presentation and panel discussion. This set up would also be preferred since students would need to sit at a table to write notes and complete exercises in the notebook throughout the workshop.
The workshop would include a Google Slides presentation and a Zoom session for the panel discussion; for this reason, a laptop, camera and projection screen will be used.
Workbooks will be provided for each student that attends the workshop; the workbook will have a list of resources to use in preparation for the MCAT, a calendar outlining important application dates and timelines for the upcoming application cycle, study methods and tips, self-care and relaxation tips, general medical school admissions requirements, QR codes for GPA calculators, appropriate interview attire, tools for organization, daily and MCAT study schedule template, and tips for writing a personal statement.
