⬜ Learn about Career Pathways - In high school, you will begin exploring and preparing for your career. You will do this by selecting an ENDORSEMENT, an endorsement is a pathway of courses or classes that you take that will prepare you for a career that you are excited about. Once you have a career pathway you will be assigned a house team based on your interest. Take the quick quiz below to give you an idea of which endorsement would best fit your career goals.

⬜ Learn about being College, Career, or Military Readiness - Our goal at WEHS is to make sure you are life-ready, do you know where your road will take you? Read below on what it means to be CCMR - College, Career, Military Ready!
College Ready:
Earn a 3 or better in an AP exam (Check out all our Ap courses at WEHS)
Meet TSI Criteria
Complete a Dual Course (9 hours on any class or 3 hrs. or more of math and English)
Earn an associate degree
Complete an OnRamps course in any subject and earn credit
Career Ready:
Earn an industry-based certificate (Check out what we offer at WEHS)
Complete a CTE coherent sequence
Complete your IEP and be workforce ready
Earn a Level I or II Certificate through a CTE class
Military Ready:
Enlist in the United States Armed Forces - Check out the steps you need to be military bound!
Life Ready:
Being LIFE READY means students leave Weslaco East with the grit and perseverance to tackle and achieve their goals by demonstrating P.R.I.D.E:
Promote the qualities of a successful,
Responsible member of society,
Independently achieve life-long goals, and
Develop the skills required to
Excel in life.
We accomplish this by learning about CASEL 5: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills
⬜ Take the Texas Success Initiative TSIA 2.0 - In order to take Dual Enrollment (courses that give you college and high school credit at the same time) you will need to be TSIA 2.0 cleared. The TSIA 2.0 is a COLLEGE READINESS PLACEMENT TEST this is how you can prove to colleges that you are ready to take college courses.
