FOUR SERVICE DELIVERY COMPONENTS
S.M.A.R.T. Goals by Service Components
Individual Planning: By the end of the first semester, all students will have an individual meeting with their campus counselor.
Guidance Curriculum: By the end of the spring semester, District SEL Lessons will be delivered to 95% of the MHMS 6-8 student body with a focus on Growth Mindset, Grit, and Resilience.
Responsive Services: By the end of the fall semester, Mary Hoge MS students will be thoroughly informed of the counseling referral process as well as protocol to follow in case of a potential student crisis. Bullying presentations will be given to students who are at risk of bullying behaviors.
System Support: By the end of the fall semester student data meetings will be held for students failing 2 or more classes to discuss remediation. Attend monthly counseling meetings throughout the school year for consultation and planning.

Individual Planning
Conduct "Minute Meetings" with each student to build relationships and assess needs
Attend and participate in 504, RTI and ARD meetings to address planning for students with special services
Meet with individual students to create four year plans and endorsements in Major Clarity
Elementary visits at feeder schools and meetings with current middle school students to present information, complete registration and verify requests for the upcoming school year
Meet individually with students that are in danger of failing or have failed two or more courses
Guidance Curriculum
Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum delivered through Advisory time
Future Pathways lessons using Major Clarity and Texas OnCourse
Feedback from administrators and teachers on guidance topics that are most pertinent to assist with needs of all students.
Bullying and Suicide prevention Curriculum lessons
Drug prevention awareness lessons delivered through Advisory
Responsive Services
Monitor student's academic progress and meet with students at risk of failing two or more classes to determine and revise strategies for improving grades and overall academic success
Respond to student, teacher, and parent referrals to address student needs
Identify and refer students to counseling groups based on individual needs
Attend and participate in 504, RTI, and ARD meetings
System Support
Communicate with staff, students, parents, and community through a variety of resources, including All-call platform, social media, campus newsletters, and the counseling website
Attend and participate in committees and professional communities, including Weekly Cabinet and Counseling Advisory Committee
Consult with stakeholders, including teachers, support staff, parents, administrators, and district leads in addressing student concerns.
GUIDANCE CURRICULUM HIGHLIGHTS (Student Outcomes)
The focus of the Guidance Lessons during the 23-24 school year focused on Emotional Regulation and Self-Efficacy. Based on tne Panorama data from winter 2023 compared to spring 2024, the following gains were observed.

COLLABORATION WITH PARENTS
Counselors distribute awards and certificates at the End-of-year Awards Ceremony. Parents are invited as special guests to this honorable celebration.
