Ricardo Rios

Hello! My name is Ricardo Rios and I am currently a senior at Weslaco East High School, East Side Strong Side!

I plan to attend The University of Texas at Austin, majoring in exercise science. As a senior, I would like to make this year the best, and so far it has been going as planned. I am part of the National Honor Society, Cross Country team, and Track & Field. I have completed a successful high school cross country career which I enjoyed every step of the way. My greatest accomplishments were making varsity since my sophomore year and also being a two-time regional qualifier where I would place high, but I never got the opportunity to make state. I am looking forward to this year’s track season, I hope for an amazing season.

I am very grateful for being given the blessing of having a wonderful group of friends and a caring family. My family consists of two very hardworking parents and an older brother who has helped me through the struggles I’ve faced. Outside of school, I am currently employed at The Olive Garden. I am a busser, but I plan to become a server in May when I turn 18. I have been working there for almost 2 years and I love earning my own money while being surrounded by great people.

Senior year will be one for the books, I love you CLASS OF 2020!
