Ahitza Roque

Hello! My name Ahitza Roque, I am a senior, and I am a student in Mrs. Ramos’ Independent Studies class for the 2019-2020 school year.

I was born and raised in Weslaco, Texas alongside my three older siblings and loving parents. Throughout my high school years, I have devoted much of my time to many clubs and organizations. I am vice-president for my school’s National Honor Society, Drama Club vice-president, UIL Journalism team Captain for two years, Public Relations Chair for my school’s Business Professionals of America chapter, and Vice-President of the Union of Student Advocates, a diplomacy organization advocating for clear communication between students and our educational leaders.

Above all, I take great pride in being an outspoken, motivated individual. I hope to study Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin this coming fall and achieve my goal of being a psychiatrist.

I want to thank you for taking the time to get to know all of us students and I hope you take away something from all of our projects. This class has given us the opportunity to explore the world around us and reflect upon ourselves throughout the process. Thank you and enjoy!
