Interview Season is Underway
Recruiting and interviewing for residents starting in July 2022 has officially started! We have already begun talks with some great candidates and are looking forward to having some of you meet them as well. Interviews will be completely virtual this year and will take place in November and December so that we are prepared to enter the ACPM Standardized Acceptance Process (match for Preventive Medicine programs) in February.
This year we have made an effort to communicate to residents with a prior board specialty that this program is similar to a fellowship. The flyer attached to this email was sent to all UW residency programs. Feel free to forward it on to anyone who may be interested!
First Year Residents Start the MPH
For the first time since 2017, both of our first year residents are full time MPH students this semester. Sara Doyle and Jeremy Mihajlovich started classes in September and are on track to finish in summer 2022.
Sara said that so far she has had an amazing opportunity to develop a project pertaining to alcohol and tobacco use in young women in her cancer epidemiology course. She is also excited to start working with the Rural Opioid Initiative at DHS as a part of her APEx project. An added perk has been enjoying the warm fall and walking to school with the great views on Observatory drive.
