Most Promise in Preventive Medicine Award Fund
At this time of year, our thoughts naturally turn to giving thanks and to helping others. We are so grateful to all of you for all you do for our program, and we ask you to help us ‘pay it forward’ in supporting the next generation of students. If COVID has taught us anything it is that the importance and value of public health and preventive medicine cannot be overstated. We are committed in building the next generation of public health and preventive medicine leaders, and one way we can achieve that is by helping to reduce their indebtedness by providing funds through the Most Promise in Preventive Medicine Award Fund. We hope you will join us in making a gift of any size to this fund so that we can reach the endowment minimum of $25,000. At that level, the fund will provide at least $1,000 annually for this award, in perpetuity.
Almost $10,000 has been raised so far, and Dr. Remington has pledged a gift of $10,000. Will you join us in our commitment to support our students, by donating to reach the level needed to establish this endowment?
As recent recipient Kali Kramolis said, ‘I am honored to have received this award; it truly is one of the recognitions I am most proud of thus far in my training. Public health and preventive medicine will always remain at the forefront of my medical career, and I am grateful to be part of an institution that recognizes its necessity as part of medical training and practice.’”
New Associate Program Director - Dr. Maggie Nolan
Dr. Maggie Nolan (PMR ’20) has been promoted to Associate Program Director. We are thrilled that she will be taking on a larger role in the administration in our program. Maggie expressed interest in our program in the very early years of our existence and eventually became a resident in July 2018. After graduating in July 2020 she was hired as an Assistant Program Director, working closely with our residents funded by the American Cancer Society on scholarly work. Her strength in scholarship and her leadership style has been and will continue to be an asset to our program.
She will balance her time as an Editor at the American Journal of Preventive Medicine and conducting research at the Center for Tobacco Research.

First PMR Reunion!
We had our first PMR Reunion on Friday, November 12th! We had to opportunity to get an update on where everyone is, both personally and professionally. It was so fun seeing all of these faces in one “room”. For those that couldn’t make it, we hope to see you next time!
