Virtual Graduation to be held on Tues., June 29th
Please join us in celebrating the 2021 Preventive Medicine Graduating Residents at a virtual graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 29th from 12:00-1:00pm in honor of Sabrina Murphy, MD, MPH and Collin Pitts, MD, MPH. We will also be presenting the following awards:

These individuals are mentors chosen by our residents who stood out as exceptional teachers during their rotations.

Devlin Cole Selected by Chancellor’s Office for Media Training
This summer, Devlin Cole (PGY-2) will be participating in media training with Veronica Rueckert. Devlin was selected by the Chancellor’s office to be part of the inaugural training cohort, along with four other professors from the university and law school, after she participated in the COVID vaccine town halls. Veronica Rueckert is the National Media Relations Specialist for UW-Madison and brings with her over a decade of experience from the Wisconsin Public Radio. She has a special interest in working with women to maximize the power and presence of their voice.
Lin Zhao on track to complete the MPH
We are pleased to announce that Lin Zhao (PGY-2) has completed her MPH curriculum and is on track to graduate this summer. Her capstone paper 'Alcohol Use During Chemotherapy: A Pilot Study' with Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative under the guidance of Dr. Noelle LoConte has been submitted to Wisconsin Journal of Medicine. She is thankful for the experience and support from the team at Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative, especially her preceptor Alexandria Cull Weatherer.

Dr. Jasmine Zapata - Juneteenth Parade Marshal
Dr. Jasmine Zapata (PMR ’18), chief medical officer and state epidemiologist for community health at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, led this year’s annual Juneteenth parade as its marshal! Read more about it here.
