Frequently Asked Questions - FF
ForWard Facilitators (FFs) are small-group facilitators of PaCE (Patient Centered Education) sessions. They work primarily with M2 students in weekly groups on PaCE+ cases during the Fall semester. It is a semester long commitment. We do not use FFs in the Spring.
PaCE and PaCE+ are small group (usually 8 student) case based activities that are primarily led by students. More information on PaCE is available here.
A PaCE case is broken out across 2 days (Monday and Thursday). A FF is expected to be available for both days.
There are AM and PM PaCE groups - You will be paired with the same group for the entire semester.
AM PaCE:
Monday - 9-10a
Thursday - 8-10a
PM PaCE:
Monday - 3-4pm
Thursday - 3-5pm
You do not need to be a content expert. Cases are sent to facilitators a week in advance and the prep work is minimal. There is nothing you will need to create in advance of the session.
If you are brand new to PaCE, training opportunities will be forthcoming.
ForWard Facilitation is compensated through MAMA. This role does not come with an FTE through the Medical Education Office.
If you you will be unavailable for a session, please reach out to Amanda Rosalez at Rosalez@wisc.edu and she can provide further guidance or assistance if possible.
Yes! you can certainly share a group with another faculty member. There is a space to indicate that on the signup. You can also email Amanda and she can make note of that.
If you are a clinician, FF and Co-Teaching can pair nicely together. If you're interested in learning more, check out our information page here or email Amanda Rosalez at Rosalez@wisc.edu for more information.
