Winthrop Parents Network

What is the Winthrop Parents Network?

Winthrop Parents Network is funded through the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant (CFCE), a grant from the Department of Early Education and Care.

The primary purpose of this program is to promote early literacy, parenting education, developmental screenings, resources and referrals for families with children birth to age 8.

This goal is achieved through collaboration with the public schools, private preschools, Early Intervention and other agencies that provide services to families.

Developmental Screenings

Do you have questions or concerns about your child’s development? Are you wondering about his/her social and emotional level or behavior?

The Winthrop Parents Network has the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to screen children ages birth to 5. This checklist will help you identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses and to see if he/she is at a typical developmental level for his/her age. This is a free service and is done with the parents as a team.

Strengthening Families

  • Family activities

  • Resource and referral information

  • Social and emotional developmental screenings

  • Parenting education

  • International night

  • Collaboration with other agencies for assistance to families in crisis
