WCA Elementary Dress Code: Please visit our website and review our elementary school dress code. Each student will also need to have their formal uniform and tie for their school picture on August 27th. The blue and gold plaid ties can be purchased at our Back to School Nights or on French Toast site.

IMPORTANT: Each year, our parents are sent home information on our handbooks, technology use agreement forms, walking permission slip forms, and other important information. Each of these slips must be completed for your child to have access to technology or be able to attend a walking field trip from one school to another.

This year we've combined all permission forms in one place to make the process easier. Once you've looked through this year's student/parent handbook, please complete the Required Parent Agreement Form to give permissions and acknowledgements for:

  • Walking Field Trip Permission
  • Acceptable Use of Technology
  • Student Data Privacy
  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
  • Code of Conduct

Parents will need to sign the Required Parent Agreement Form for each elementary child at Windsor Charter Academy. By completing these forms now, it makes the start of school just a little bit easier! The agreement should take only a few minutes.

AVID Shirts: To help promote the importance of AVID with our students, parents will need to purchase an AVID t-shirt for their children in grades 3-5. The purchase of an AVID t-shirt is optional for students in grades K-2. Students will have the same t-shirt throughout their elementary experience. Our AVID t-shirts are worn once per month on AVID days. If your child already has an AVID t-shirt, it is optional to order a new one. AVID t-shirts are $8.00 each. The order form and payment is due on September 6, 2019. Please make checks payable to WCA. Orders may be placed at the front office or at Back to School Night.

Volunteer Hours: Each year, WCA families are required to volunteer 35 hours for our school. There are many ways to you can participate! Please visit our volunteer section on our website to learn more! Please remember to log your hours as you volunteer. This information is used for grant applications. This helps our school in so many ways! Log your hours on our Volunteer Tracker to make sure your service hours are counted. If you haven't had the opportunity to open your account, we are inviting you to establish or update your volunteer account online. Parent volunteers are critical in supporting our children. We truly appreciate everything you do! Please stop at one of our offices or email Jamie Zink with questions.

Math tutoring The Math Department is pleased to invite you to participate in its 3rd year of their WCA Math student-tutor program. Parents may sign their students up in grades K-8 to be tutored by a High School student. Sessions are one day a week from 3:30 - 4:30 at the MS/HS Academic Advancement Center and students will be matched with a tutor according to timing preferences selected at registration. There is a two-three week time frame for students to be matched with a tutor; you will be contacted within that time frame. Cost for this weekly tutor session is $10/session to be paid directly to the tutor.

Click here for a link to online registration.

Additionally, we would love to have a liason from the elementary staff who can serve to communicate suggestions to us enabling us to be more effective.

And.... if you have resources you would like us to include to work with your students, please share them with me!

Please respond if you are interested in being an elementary liason or if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about the program in general. Best of luck in getting through our first full 5-day week next week!!!!! Sincerely, Lara Holt
