Dear Families,
It is my upmost pleasure to serve as the Elementary Principal. I bring 15 years of education experience to this position.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce our four ENCORES (specials) that your child will participate in throughout the year. The first is STEAM where your child will explore several hands-on activities involving science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Next, is Modern Informational Technologies (MIT) formerly known as LAB. Although the primary goal of this class is to engage in computer science, students will continue to check out books during this time. Fit-For-Life will be our physical fitness program where students will establish and strengthen skills needed for a healthy lifestyle. Finally, we will continue to provide instruction throughout a variety of Performing Arts. We value the importance of developing a well-rounded student and these four classes are structured to maintain that expectation.
This is going to be an exciting school year filled with new opportunities, growth, and memories that will last a lifetime! We are continuing to build a culture where high expectations are the norm and students are excited to come to school! I look forward to maintaining and creating positive relationships with the students and families in the Windber Area School District.
