Let Me Answer That for You

How many books can students check out?

  • Kindergartners have the opportunity to check out 1 book each week beginning the second semester.
  • 1st & 2nd grade students may check out 1 book at a time during their scheduled time, but may come during Open Check-Out as often as they would like.
  • 3rd - 5th graders may check out two books at a time during their scheduled time, but may come during Open Check-Out as often as they would like.

When are books due?

  • Books can be checked out for a 2 week period but can be turned in anytime.
  • Books may be renewed for another 2 week period.

What happens if a book is overdue?

  • There are no fines for an overdue book.
  • Students may not check out another book until overdue books are returned.

What happens if a book is damaged or lost?

  • The book will be assessed to determine the extent of damage to the book and then, if necessary, a fine will be assigned to the student.
  • If a book is damaged beyond repair, a book replacement fine will be assigned to the student.
  • If a book is lost, the student is responsible for paying the replacement cost.
