Lyndia Kornegay Howard
Special Education Teacher/ General Resource (6th -8th grade)
Hi, I am Mrs. Lyndia Kornegay Howard. I work with the Wilson Public School System as the Special Education General Resource Teacher at Darden Middle School for grades 6-8. This is my fourth year with the Wilson School System. I have had a tenured background working with at risk youth and adults since 1989. I began my career with at risk youth within a group home setting, and later began my career as a juvenile justice officer and educator for approximately 18 years. I have over twenty two years working in the NC State System. My educational background is as follow: I currently hold a Bachelors of Science Degree in Family and Community Services and a minor in Sociology from East Carolina University, NC. I hold a Masters Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, MI. I also hold a license in Special Education (K-12) General Curriculum as a highly qualified teacher. I strive to work hard, collaboratively, and smart within my career field. I love observing our youth succeed and make milestones even if they are small ones. I explain to our youth that success is the key; failure is not an option. In my personal life, I live by christian values. My motto is: "If you work hard you can have anything if you have "faith" and the golden rule to treat others how you want to be treated even on your bad days. I look forward to continuing to serve our students at Darden Middle School.
