TXR Interventionist
My name is Bonnie Major. I am an interventionist at Tuckers Crossroads Elementary. As an interventionist, I work closely with the classroom teacher. Together we strive to meet the needs of individual students who may require additional assistance in the areas of readiness, reading, and math. I may go into the classroom, or students may come to my room for small group instruction. The groups are flexible and may change as students’ needs change. Various strategies are used to strengthen reading and/or language skills. I focus on basic print concept, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and comprehension. This program does not replace any classroom instruction.
