Welcome to the Wilmington Choir Page!
I am the new choir director - Ms. Caity Warner. I am so excited to be working at Wilmington where I'll be surrounded by supportive colleagues and community members, as well as very talented students. Let me introduce myself!
I grew up in Jamestown, Ohio. After graduating from Greeneview, I decided to move to Bowling Green, Ohio to study choral music. In May I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in PK-12 Music Education, with a Choral Specialization, from Bowling Green State University - which has a tremendous music education program. I've always had an intense love for music, and an even larger care for kids. For this reason I decided to teach music - that way I can combine the two things I'm passionate about.
Throughout this first year I am hoping to grow the choir programs at Wilmington. What does this look like? A growing program, to me, is when students are not only capable of being more musical, but when they can also understand what music is and how it works! These are things I will be focusing on. While most aspects of the program will stay the same, some aspects will also change to fit, what I think, is in the best musical interest for our students (which is ultimately what we all want).
On this page you will find our calendar filled with upcoming events, my choir handbook, audition processes for the 2020-2021 school year, Wilmingtones' costume information, as well as some pictures.
I'm excited for this journey to begin, and I look forward to making music with all of you in one way or another.
Thank you for supporting Wilmington City School's Choirs!
