Sukkot, also known as the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles, is a week-long Jewish holiday that commemorates the 40-year period when the Israelites wandered in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt, living in temporary shelters. It also celebrates the fall harvest. During Sukkot, Jewish people build and dwell in a sukkah, a temporary hut with a roof made of natural materials, and take part in the "Four Species" ceremony. Jewish people celebrate by entering a small hut and giving thanks for food and shelter.
