This class focuses on reading, writing, and learning about the gothic literature genre.

In the class, we will read books and poetry from the genre of gothic literature. While doing this we will:

• determine the theme and central idea of these texts and analyze their development as well as their relationship to characters, setting, and plot.

• analyze dialogue and incidents in the texts and the impact they have on the story and/or characters.

In the class, we will write in response to the books and poetry we read as well as write our own stories and poems in the genre of gothic literature.
